Road Trip Day 3: The Longest Drive

We woke at 3:30am and were on the road by 3:50am. The kids slept the first 3 hours and did incredibly well the remaining 6. I had 2 crafts that both worked today and some leftovers of the more liked snacks from yesterday so a double win. Thanks to the awesome astc travel program that Cranbrook and thanksgiving point are both a part of, we get into musuems free all over the country. Today was the Air Zoo in portage Michigan. We went there on the way back from Michigan, and for vacation one year and as always it was a hit.

Road trip Day 2

Because we had a much shorter drive we didn't have to wake up till 5:30 and we got to eat breakfast. We were on the road by 7am. The kids liked the snacks better today, and weren't too thrown off that they there was no glue for one of the crafts. Oops. We had a wonderful time at the Omaha Children's museum and the hotel is very nice looking. The kids and I enjoyed swimming, a walk, and the workout room. It will be another early drive tomorrow and our longest one yet. Prayers.

Road Trip Day 1

For our first day we started getting everything and everyone out at 3:30am and we on our way by 4. Cabela's at Cabela headquarters:
Pros: tents with no other stuff for them to mess with, fun offroading vehicles they didn't kick the kids off of, friendly staff, familiar so makes them feel like this isn't a huge overwhelming change because we went somewhere they know and love.
Cons: no free fudge samples and less flavors (huge bummer since I was using this as a motivator)but we did still buy fudge, no fish anywhere, no big game room for the kids to run around in.
Overall: a success.

The snail races

We were so glad our cousins came to say goodbye. I loved watching them run around together

and host the snail races.

Goodbye Thanksgiving Point

I love this treasure trove of museums and we will miss visiting them, so we used our pass to hit most of them the weekend before we leave.

Happy Pioneer Day!

We celebrated Pioneer day with these cute cousins at the butterfly biosphere. They were the cutest bees and those Mormon crickets were no joke. I am so grateful for those who made the desert bloom as a rose. We finished off with Pie with the ward and fireworks with Grandma and grandpa. It was a wonderful pioneer day.
